Have you ever heard of Korean Tapas? I didn’t until a few weeks ago… My boyfriend’s sister and brother in-law introduced us to Vol. 94 in Pasadena, and ever since then, I was craving to go back for more. Vol. 94 Wine Bistro doesn’t have a defined cuisine category. The server explained that the name stands for the different volumes of food and the 94 days in summer that are peak for picking grapes. Wine Bistro speaks for itself. (Starting from the top) We had the Grilled Sword Squid, Galbi-Marinated Escolar (Black Forbidden Rice Bibimbap) Crabby Patty, Pirate’s Gold (Inked Gnocchi), and Purple Couliflower. We also had the Shrimp Toast, which was eaten before I got a picture of it (thank you hungry boyfriend) and the Pork Belly, which I had no part of. This is a great place for a quite dinner date, conveniently located across the street from the Arclight movie theater. I was originally going to include my thoughts of “Killing them Softly,” starring Brad Pitt; however, it turns out there isn’t really much worth mentioning. Let’s just say the best part of the night was the food.
