Favoring the Style and Smile of Behati Prinsloo

What makes some one’s style so favorable to others? Whenever I see Behati Prinsloo, I am reminded that great style isn’t always the name brands one wears or the trends one follows. After first seeing BP in the Victoria Secret catalogs, then in magazine spreads, and most recently in a Free People shoot, I began following her on Instagram and became more and more enamored with her. I love that she describes herself as a “t-shirt and jeans kinda girl,” and despite being in an industry where looks can be “everything,” her street style gives off the impression that looks are nothing without that “something.” When it comes to BP, that something is her personality, which shines through in whatever she puts on, whether it’s for work or for leisure. Her style is so relatable, free-spirited, and surprisingly, comfortable. When I mean comfortable, I also mean she looks comfortable in her own skin as well as the clothes she’s in. She’s usually photographed make-up free, having fun, and most importantly smiling! Nothing makes some one more favorable to look at than a genuine smile, which can be the most stylish and important thing some one can put on.

Chapter Five: Green Accessories

There are several papers inside the envelope that contains my contract, my heart still pounding, and I sit back on my bed and begin to read. I’m scanning over the fundamental terms, the roles, commencement and term, availability, location, etc. etc. Then it gets to the rules, and appendixes outlining hard limits, soft limits, and discipline including forms of pain and punishment. Holy fuck, I can’t even bring myself to consider the food list, how can I possibly agree to all of this shit? I shudder at the thought, but there’s too much to think about. I close my eyes and drift into a heavy sleep with dreams of four-poster beds and shackles and intense green eyes. The next day, my roommate wakes me up to tell me there’s a man with a package for me and I immediately know who it’s from. “What is it?” she asks. “An iPad and some accessories”

Chapter Four: A Green Dress

My roommate has lent me a dress for tonight and I decide on the green-colored one for this evening. I am negotiation a contract tonight to be the sexy billionaire’s submissive. “Well?” I ask my roommate? “You scrub up well… the dress really suits you and your coloring. Keep the dress, you’ll have him eating out of your hand.” She wishes me luck and I head out on my meeting with Mr. Green, with his tousled hair and a smile that leaves me speechless and molten inside. I’m wearing high heel stilettos and being from Clumsyville, I don’t want to end up on my hands and knees again (where of course that’s exactly where he wants me). He walks gracefully over to meet me. “A dress. I approve.”

Raving About A Raincoat

Is it raining today? If so, we can’t leave home without something that will keep us nice and dry. Since umbrellas can be quite cumbersome and they only leave one hand free, having a raincoat could be a lot more handy ;). Free People’s ‘Lacey’ Raincoat (which is 69% off here http://www.6pm.com/free-people-lacey-raincoat-aqua-combo) is the perfect and most stylish raincoat at an affordable price. The raincoat is light-weight and comes with a little pouch that can tote around the folded coat (or anything else if the coat isn’t in there) and can easy fit in a purse. The lace pattern and the scalloped trim has every one asking wear it’s from and in additional to being functional, it’s versatile enough to wear with any outfit. All of it’s features make this raincoat rave-worthy, rain or shine.

Naughty or Nice?

Are you starting to think about what to wear for Holiday events? I attended the first of them this past weekend.
For a Holiday brunch with my boyfriend’s family, I opted to wear a cream, embroidered, sheer mesh dress over a pink/nude slip. Simple, but nice. This dress is from Free People ($148). It has a peter pan color, and buttons down the front, with flower and bow embroidered detailing, which made the dress very festive. I belted it with nude stretch belt that came with another dress from BCBG. The slip is from Target ($20) and the heels are a simple peep toe pump by Jimmy Choo (purchased from Ebay). I decided to stay away from dark colors since the event was during the day. There was a lot of red, black, and Tartan at the event, but I liked that I was a little different from the other party goers. I also love that this dress can be worn again… dressy, layered with a different slip for a completely different look, or worn really casually with boots or even jeans.
For the KROC Almost Acoustic Christmas Music Fest, I wore a black velvet tank by BB Dakota ($65, on sale for $25 at http://houseoflolo.com/shop/index.php?product=BB44152), gold, metallic, foiled moto leggings from Free People ($98, on sale at Nordstrom for $55), transparent and black cap toe Louboutin pumps (also purchased from Ebay), and accessorized by the House of Harlow 1960 leather station necklace ($75). The line-up was amazing. We rocked out to Imagine Dragons, Alex Clare, Of Monsters and Men, Grouplove, M83, Passion Pit, Neon Trees, Fun., Special Guests (8 song set by) No Doubt, Jack White, and The Killers. We had a great time; however, the real killers were my shoes. Yes, killer looking, but also killed me after 8 hours of walking around, dancing, and jumping up and down. No matter how cute the shoes and how much they beg to be worn, my feet have already warned that I better be nice to them. So, Im making a list, I’m checking it twice, I’m gonna wear shoes not naughty, but nice… ‘cuz I know I’ll be hittin’ the town.
